Our Roles

Mercy Ships Academy

Ben serves in the Academy and will be transitioning into the roll as Principal of the K-12 International school onboard the Global Mercy.

I have a real heart for working with student in both an international setting and outside of their home environment. To me serving in the Academy both honours the decision their parents made to serve with Mercy Ships but also gives me an opportunity to guide students through the high and struggles that come with these transitions.

Academy Vision Statement:

Mercy Ships Academy brings glory to God by fully equipping each student with the foundation of knowledge and skills necessary to fulfill God’s purposes in their lives.  We will do this by partnering with parents in developing Christian character in their children through teaching values based on a genuine biblical worldview within the structure of a quality academic education; meeting the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of each student.

Nurse / PCG

Hannah serves initially as the Primary Caregiver for our family.

Besides this Hannah serves in the Crew Clinic two mornings a week. The crew clinic team is an integral part of the functioning of the ship as they provide for the medical needs of the Full Time Crew and local Day Crew.

Students

The kids role is to be kids.

The Academy provides them with amazing teachers, academics, and experiences

Living on a ship has  its unique challenges but with a climbing frame, small swimming pool and friends from all over the globe, the kids are blossoming and really understanding the wider make-up of the world.
